Pinoy in US saves life, called hero by netizens

REDWOOD CITY, California – Netizens are calling a President Bush appointee a hero after he rescued a passenger from a burning car in Chicago.

On his Facebook page, Rudy Pamintuan of Illinois posted that he witnessed an accident at the Kennedy Expressway and pulled a young person out of a burning car.

Netizens and friends are now calling him a hero.

Pamintuan is the managing director for an international affairs firm, and is known in the Chicago Pinoy community for being previously appointed by President Bush to serve as Chairman of the President’s Advisory Commission on Asian-American and Pacific Islanders.
